Do NOT mix things up; or DO!

Friday morning, not as early as I would have wanted, and still a visit to bring to the city hall. And then I can "start" my day. But before that, maybe some time for something else. Something I have not done for a long time: give birth to thoughts going on in my mind.

One fact: people change; you change; I have changed. One attitude:  NEVER support your beliefs / decisions on what on what people believe / would decide for you.

Isn't the word "NEVER" a bit too strong here? Of course. I just wanna make a point. And I am convinced that I do have a point. And you, of course, are completely free to disagree. Otherwise, I would not have a point. Simple like that.

But let's go straight to the point. Do you know those people that speak so convincingly and boldly about their ideas? Some of them are not completely sure of what they are talking about, and they are basically trying to make them so loud that, in the end, they will sleep in peace because they convinced themselves. Others just speak like that because they could not do differently. They are convinced of what they are talking about. And, when you reach such a level of conviction is really hard not to spread your word.

In either situation, the chance is high that these people will change their minds and speeches at some point of their life. Something that is completely normal. Because these brave/convincing people also change.

There is no problem in being certain about something. There is no problem in telling people what you are convinced of. There is no problem in changing your mind. All of this is part of our human experience; humans that live in a world in complete/continuous change.

But what is really important here is: DO NOT BUY WHAT PEOPLE SAY, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE SAYING IT. And that is something that took me a long time to realize.

Your decisions are, in the end, your decisions. So make sure they are yours and that you thought them over and over again. And, of course, you are probably the one who is going to answer for them in the future.  The same holds for what you believe in. Actually, it holds for most of things in life.

Why am I saying all of this? Am I trying to convince you of something? Maybe.
But answering (only) the first answer: I have seen so many friends of mine changing their speeches. And I have changed my speeches as well. So, in the end, very little remains from the long talks when we tried to convince each other of our own ideas. Of course, the value of the talks stands on its own as a point in history. But that is it.

Everyone is in search. Let people be, and you be. And DO NOT mix the things up. Or DO. In the end, it is up to you.
